The Open Institute is a Cambodian non-governmental and not-for-profit organization. Part of our mission is to ensure that Cambodia has access to the benefits of technology for social and economic advance.
We work to help the economic development of Cambodia by providing computer tools in Khmer language that can be used by everybody. These tools are already widely used in schools, NGOs, companies and in a good part of government offices.
We also help develop and localize educational multimedia applications that will be used in the education system to help students understand better their subjects.
The Open Institute is searching for two full time Software and Application Translators who will help us ensure that the software and educational materials are well translated and adapted to Khmer and become useful for students and the rest of the country.
1. Key Responsibilities:
• To translate from English to Khmer messages including in different open source computer programs.
• To translate educational multimedia applications and documents from English to Khmer
• To participate on the definition of translation/localization rule for Khmer computer and education terms.
2. Requirements:
• A Bachelor degree of computer science and/or English.
• Experience in localization software or in translation.
• Good interpersonal and team work.
• Be motivated to work for a social project.
